Depending on your immigration status, your relatives can obtain immigration benefits. If you are a United States citizen or a permanent resident (green card holder), you can help a family member immigrate to the US.
Spouses and Fiancés : If you are a US citizen or a green card holder and you are married to or planning on marrying a foreign national, we can help you obtain a green card for your spouse. If your foreign national spouse is already in the US, your spouse may eligible for adjustment of status without leaving the US. Contact us to determine if your spouse qualifies to adjust status within the US. Even if your foreign national spouse is outside the US, you can sponsor them through consular processing. A US citizens can also sponsor his/her fiancé who is outside the US. Upon approval of the fiancé visa, the foreign national can travel to the US and the couple must get married within 90 days.
Parents and Children: US citizens over the age of 21 can also help their parents and children under the age of 21 obtain permanent resident status in the US. Similar to petitioning for your spouse as discussed above, you can petition for a parent and child and help them adjust status within the US. Alternatively, you can petition for a parent and child who is outside the US and help them immigrate to the US. A US citizen can also petition for children over the age of 21 regardless of whether the child is married or unmarried.
As a permanent resident, an individual cannot sponsor their parents but can sponsor an unmarried child of any age. While unmarried children under the age of 21 can complete the process quicker, children over the age of 21 have a significant wait before they may obtain a green card.
Siblings: US citizens who are over the age of 21 can also sponsor their siblings and the sibling’s family to immigrate to the US.
